What is Gout and how do I treat it?

Gout is a type of arthritis. Most people experience pain, stiffness, and inflammation in and around joints, such as fingers and toes and larger joints such as hips, knees and elbows.

In addition to the joints, gout can also invade the bursae, the sacs that serve as cushions between bones and soft tissue.

The good news is the pain you are feeling can be treated. If you visit your doctor, they would normally recommend anti-inflammatory drugs, or corticosteroids, colchicines or possibly zyloprim. Unfortunately, these drugs do have harmful side effect. These side effects could cause kidney or liver failure, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, headaches, etc.

If you want an effective treatment and eliminate the possible side effects for gout pain, you may want to consider some of the following anti-inflammatory natural products:

Boswella: A very safe herb that has anti-inflammatory components that are able to reduce pain of the joints. Continuous use can benefit blood flow to the joints, allowing them to improve their strength.

Cayenne Cream (capsaicin cream): works by reducing substance P in your body, a chemical seen in the nerve cells that sends pain signals to your brain. It also is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory with pain relieving properties.

Krill Oil: contains EPA and DHA omega-fats that have anti-inflammatory properties, reducing joint inflammation.

Ginger: also has anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties.

Astaxanthin: has a natural occurring pigment called carotenoid, which has anti-inflammatory effects that relieve joint pain.
